Music Motivates Exercicse
Does listening to music motivate one to exercise?
The purpose of this Experiment was to determine whether music can motivate oneself to exercise
Hypothesis: Listening to certain type of music can motivate oneself to exercise
Method: Two surveys were sent out to different people of ages, gender, and race. One survey, which was the control group, simply asked basic questions and at the end asked how motivated the participant is to exercise currently. The other survey, which was the experimental group, asked the participants to listen to the songs listened in the form and after asked how motivated they were to exercise
Data: In the experimental group I had around 10 people who reported their motivation around 4 on a scale from 1-5.
In the control group, I had around 10 people who reported their motivation around 2.5 on a scale from 1-5.
Conclusion: Based on the data from this experiment, it shows that music has a minimal effect on one's motivation to exercise. Music can be a factor in boosting one's motivation, but overall it comes inside a person's heart.
Music Helps You Sleep
The purpose of this experiment was to determine whether listening to certain type of music can help you fall asleep faster
Hypothesis: Listening to certain type of music can help one fall asleep faster
Method: This was a self experiment, meaning I conducted the experiment on myself. For about 8 days I would listen to music while on the bed. For another 8 days, I would go to bed without listening to any music. I would track the time I go on the bed and the time I physically fall asleep with an apple watch.
